“On Journey’s End” a 21 x 15 entry submitted by Shasha Teut of Ute, took second place in the Celebrate the Hills Art Show this year. Her piece of charcoal on paper mounted to wood frame was an intricate and interesting piece chosen by our judge.
The Artist’s Bio by Shasta: I grew up in Ute, Iowa with my twin sister, Chanelle. My father was the one who encouraged by creative side and I couldn’t be more thankful for that. I went to college in Sioux City at Briar Cliff. Graduated with a bachelor’s in art. Art has helped me through ups and downs in my life and I can now help others. I have devoted most of my artwork for commissions. I feel I can make more of a personal connection with people better than if I mass produced things. This is why I work in many different mediums. I have goals to build my business. My sister and I work together on many different projects. I can’t wait to meet new faces and new conversations with new inspirations.
Sasha was also recognized as the winner of the Judges Award with her entry called “The Secret Journey” an oil paint on a sawblade.
