City of Mapleton Minutes - Regular Council Meeting July 10, 2024 The regular meeting of the city council was scheduled for July 10, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. Roll call was taken with the following members present, Benita Uhl, Jacob Zawodny, Zach Schrader, Joe Hogan and Mayor Brent Streck. Absent: Abby Koenigs. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion by Jacob Zawodny, second by Benita Uhl to approve minutes from the previous meeting. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Zach Schrader, second by Jacob Zawodny to approve the order of the agenda. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Jacob Zawodny, second by Joe Hogan to dismiss any action on the nuisance abatement for 811 Main Street prairie garden. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Benita Uhl, second by Joe Hogan to refer the sewer issue at Sharon Landa’s at 206 So. 2nd Street with our insurance company. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Jacob Zawodny to add three areas to the street project at an approximate cost of $24,300.00. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Benita Uhl to get estimates on repairs for the shelter house such as faucets, water heater and toilets. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Jacob Zawodny to approve the purchase of a microwave for the community center and a refrigerator for city hall at a cost not to exceed $1,500.00. Ayes: All. Motion carried. Motion by Jacob Zawodny, second by Zach Schrader to approve a 5% increase for all full time employees and 50 cent increase for permanent part-time employees. Ayes: Zach Schrader, Jacob Zawodny and Benita Uhl. Nay: Joe Hogan. Motion carried. Motion by Joe Hogan, second by Benita Uhl to approve payment of bills as presented. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
